Biography
Pierre Nosewicz is an associate at Wordstone Dispute Resolution in Paris.
Pierre focuses on investment and international commercial arbitration, acting as counsel and tribunal assistant and secretary in proceedings conducted under the aegis of various institutional rules such as ICSID, ICC, LCIA and UNCITRAL Rules.
He also has experience in complex civil and commercial litigation before French courts, particularly in commercial, insurance and industrial risks disputes.
His practice spans a wide range of sectors, with experience in disputes in the energy, mining, infrastructure, construction, insurance and space sectors.
Pierre has developed a particular interest in sovereign disputes and received exposure in proceedings involving States and State-owned entities, with amounts in dispute reaching several billion euros.
Pierre has been recognized by Best Lawyers as “One to Watch – International Arbitration” (France, 2025).
Before joining Wordstone Dispute Resolution, Pierre held associate positions in a leading arbitrators’ practice and a commercial litigation boutique firm in Paris, and worked at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) at the World Bank in Washington, D.C., where he supervised multiple arbitration and annulment proceedings and contributed to institutional research projects.
He also taught international economic law (WTO law and ISDS) at Paris Panthéon-Assas and Paris Saclay Universities, and published articles on international law and arbitration.
Pierre is also a member of several associations, including Young ICSID, the American Society for International Law and the African Society for International Law.
Recent Experience
International arbitration
Counsel and tribunal secretary in ICSID, ICC, LCIA and UNCITRAL arbitrations relating to mining concessions, satellite sales, consultancy agreements with international organisations and international investment disputes.
Selected experience includes:
- Assistant to the Tribunal in Orano Mining SAS v. Republic of Niger (ICSID Case No. ARB/25/8).
- Tribunal secretary in consolidated ICC arbitration proceedings between mining investors and a State concerning a mining concession dispute (amount in dispute approx. €5.5 billion).
- Legal assistant at ICSID, assisting legal counsel in arbitration and annulment proceedings and participating in working groups on compliance with and enforcement of ICSID awards.
Litigation
Acting as counsel in complex commercial and civil litigation proceedings before French courts, including delivery of oral arguments, in a broad array of disputes (including hydrogen production plants, construction disputes and insurance coverage litigation).
Selected experience includes:
- Representing the insurer of a construction company in complex commercial litigation proceedings relating to a civil liability claim arising from the rupture of an oil pipeline (French law, amount in dispute approx. €2 million).
- Representing global insurance companies in litigation concerning insurance policy coverage under French law, involving claims totaling several million euros in aggregate.
- Representing a software services provider in litigation proceedings relating to the implementation of a cloud data solution (French law, amount in dispute approx. € 1 million).
