Wordstone welcomes Álvaro Martínez to its associates’ team

We are delighted to announce that Álvaro Martínez, after spending six months interning in our Paris office, is now an associate in our team.

A member of the Bar of Quito, he has experience acting in proceedings under ICSID, ICC, and UNCITRAL rules, in disputes in the construction, oil, energy, and mining industries. He has special experience defending States and State-owned entities.

Prior to joining Wordstone Dispute Resolution, Álvaro worked in the international arbitration teams of Adell & Merizalde in Bogotá, Colombia and AVL in Quito, Ecuador.

Álvaro is an active member of the arbitration community. He was offered an internship at our firm after winning the International Arbitration Competition organized by the University of Buenos Aires and the University of Rosario in 2024. That same year, he also won the National Arbitration Essay Competition organized by the Ecuadorian Institute of Arbitration.
